Special focus on challenges of growth
Airports will compete based on their 2024 passenger traffic:
With 2024 passenger traffic surpassing pre-pandemic levels and further growth expected in 2025, airports are facing new challenges in operations, sustainability, passenger experience, security, financial resilience, and staff wellbeing. This award recognises those excelling in tackling the challenges of growth – or lack thereof.
In partnership with Airport Carbon Accreditation
This award recognises an airport that has elevated its environmental management through innovation. Airports can submit projects under the following categories:
Past Winners: Toulon-Hyères Airport (2024), Gatwick Airport (2023), Bristol & iGA Istanbul Airports (2022).
In partnership with SESAR Joint Undertaking
This award recognises airports that have embraced digital innovation to enhance safety, capacity, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Winners will have implemented cutting-edge solutions aligned with the SESAR Joint Undertaking vision of making European airspace the most efficient and eco-friendly in the world.
Past Winners: Rome Fiumicino Airport (2024), Prague Airport (2023), London City Airport (2022).

This award celebrates an outstanding HR department that has demonstrated leadership in workforce management. The 2025 focus is on Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI).
